About Us | Oxford Radiology Courses

Oxford Radiology Courses has been running successfully since 2004

It is run by consultant radiologists, and was launched with an aim to provide accessible, affordable and high quality courses for both consultants and trainees in radiology.

The Emergency Radiology/On Call course and the MRI course have taken place every summer since then, and have developed in response to the feedback from attendees. Over time our delegates have grown to include doctors in other specialties as well as allied health professionals.

Since the courses began we have been fortunate enough to welcome attendees from the whole of Europe, and from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Korea, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and the USA. The lecturers are all established consultants at UK teaching hospitals. Each year we also invite an Emergency Radiology speaker and an MRI specialist from the USA.

The courses are organised by consultant radiologists.

Course Organisers

Dr Jon Willat

Jonathon Willatt trained in Oxford, and afterwards worked at the University of Michigan and the Veterans Administration, Ann Arbor, Michigan for 13 years. He now works for Everlight Radiology as a radiologist. He founded Oxford Radiology Courses in 2004 and has organised the Oxford Emergency Radiology Course and the Oxford MRI Course ever since.

Dr Rowena Johnson

Rowena Johnson trained in radiology at Imperial College, followed by fellowships in musculoskeletal radiology at Chelsea & Westminster and the University of Toronto. She is currently a Consultant Radiologist at the Oxford University Hospitals, and organiser of several successful educational courses.

Dr Rajat Chowdhury

Rajat Chowdhury trained in radiology in Wessex, followed by a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Chelsea & Westminster and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. He is currently a Consultant Radiologist at the Oxford University Hospitals. He has organised multiple successful educational courses.

Faculty

Peter Liu

Peter Liu is Chief of Abdominal Imaging at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio. He specialises in Body MRI. His research interests included MRCP, MR Angiography, and Cardiovascular Imaging.

Suzanne Chong

Suzanne Chong is Associate Professor and Director of Emergency Radiology at the University of Michigan.

Tristan Barrett

Tristan Barrett is currently a University Lecturer at the University of Cambridge and an Honorary NHS Consultant Radiologist where he is the clinical lead for uro-radiology.

Dr Ruth Batty

Dr Ruth Batty is a Consultant Neuroradiologist at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. Her subspecialist interests are paediatric neuroradiology and spinal intervention.
